In Case You Missed It... BET Hip Hop Awards 2020 Highlights + Award Winners

The BET Award Show Team has done it again! The 2020 BET “HIP HOP AWARDS” brought together some of the hottest names in music to celebrate Hip Hop’s biggest night. A Special recognition goes to Master P as here is honored with the I AM HOP HOP AWARD for his contribution to the music industry and US Vice President hopeful Senator Kamala Harris for giving her message about the importance of HBCUs. Here are our top highlights of the show:

Highlight #1: BET Hip Hop Awards Hosts: 85 South

This year, BET tapped comedians, actors, hosts of the “85 South Show” podcast and stars of “Wild N’ Out” - comedy supergroup 85 South (Karlous Miller, DC Young Fly and Chico Bean) co-hosted the annual show. They did a great job keeping the energy of the show.

Highlight #2: Tobe Nwigwe performance

Rapper Tobe Nwigwe delivers an ethereal first performance at the Hip Hop Awards of his tracks “Try Jesus” and “Eat”.

Highlight #3: The Reggae Cypher

Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, Skip Marley, Original Koffee, and Shenseea bring the vibes to the 2020 Hip Hop Awards with their reggae cypher.

Highlight #4: The Ladies First Cypher

Brandy, Erykah Badu, Teyana Taylor, and H.E.R., are the femcees who hopped on the mic in the Ladies First cypher. I mean, the line up alone was the highlight!

*Honorable Mention* Highlight #5: 2 Chainz Performance of “Money Maker”

2 Chainz and Lil Wayne close out the 2020 Hip Hop Awards with their performance of “Money Maker.” Definitely THE HBCU anthem of 2020 despite no homecomings happening but the extra sauce of this performance was the spoken work by Sunni Patterson and the black ballerinas.
